228. Midgard' s Serpent
Lies the serpent, unwanted, and uncared for.
Dejected and resentful, it waits in silence,
Darkness and loneliness its only friends.
Born innocent, but unjustly convicted as evil,
Swiftly cast out, exiled, outlawed, and thrown away.
Jormungand grows angrier with every passing tide,
The monster, wrapped round the world, plans revenge.
Spawn of Loki, and offspring of the Jotun Angrboda,
Born with siblings Hel and Fenrir, a monstrous brood.
Innocent no more, the years have torn its kindness away,
The Gods now feel his hatred boiling up from the depths !
