Tonight the Moon God, Mani, was the closest he has been to Mother Earth in eighteen years, and he never looked more bright or spectacular as he did here tonight in the Northeastern United States. Mighty Freyr kept the skies clear of clouds and I could see Mani's full shining face against the blackness of space as seldom before. His beautiful grey pock -marked face slid gently across the sky silently and proud. I watched for over an hour even though I have a cold.
After honoring him, I popped in the cd, Sequentia : Edda - Myths from Medieval Iceland into my walkman, and listened to the Eddas set to music while I watched the show. I felt small but very happy watching Mani slowly cross the sky. I wondered if Asatruar on the West Coast of America, in Iceland, Norway, and the other Scandinavian countries were also watching the Great God of the night ride his path across the sky. I hope they did, then at least for tonight we were all united as one by Mani's grace ! Our Folk, Our religion, and our Gods and Goddesses are truly wonderful and tonight was just another great example. Hail, shining Mani !
