Poetry is also a wonderful way to teach our children about our religion, and our different perspectives towards our Gods. Few people see our Gods exactly the same, and it is good to see them through different eyes. I have 82 poems on my site, but this is nothing compared to the 2, 400 poems that are on Michaela' s site, Odin' s Gift. The poems there come from all around the world, and give many different views of our Gods, and our religion. Many also have little pictures of the Gods, or scenes from the Eddas that I think children would love. I would recommend screening some of the poems first if the children are very young, because lets face it, the Vikings, even in poetry, can sometimes bring forth imagery of violence.
Yes ! Poetry, music, and Odin's Gift are the perfect combination for your children. It is a place that kids can have fun listening to music, reading poetry, and learning about our Gods and Goddesses ! And maybe, just maybe, it will keep them away from those mind numbing video games, and broaden their minds and their spirits !
Go with Odin's wisdom, Freyja's love and thor's protection !
