Because I wondered, no, I needed to know, which of the Gods and Goddesses had compelled me to write this unusual ritual I decided to ask Them at the end of my next seasonal ritual. I wrote the question on a piece paper and burned it in a brazier as an offering to the Aesir and Vanir. I don't know what I really expected to happen by doing this, but I don't think that deep down I expected any real response.
A few days later I received my May, 2010, Canoe and Kayak magazine,( I love to kayak ), and on the cover was a woman named Freya Hoffmeister. I had never seen the name Freya or Freyja outside of the Eddas or the Sagas. But there it was right on the front cover of my magazine. It sent a chill down my spine.
I only knew one person to ask about this at the time and that was Galina Krasskova. So I e -mailed her and asked if she had ever heard of anyone else having an experience like this. Her response was as follows:
May 6, 2010
" I think that the Gods speak and communicate with us in many different ways. As a priest and diviner, I would look at what you describe below: asking which God inspired you to write your ritual and then receiving the magazine with the woman named Freya, as an omen and an answer to your question".
"I've had experiences like that before and, it's one of the ways that I was taught to triple check my insights and discernment" .
First let me say how appreciative I was that she took the time to write me because I was a little freaked out by this incident. She is a wonderful person ! But was this an answer or just a coincidence ? I guess the answer comes down to how strong your faith really is !
Go with Odin's wisdom, Freyja's love and Thor's protection !
