It amazes me that a violent religion like Christianity could have sprung forth from the teachings of a man who taught love, understanding, tolerance and fellowship, but it did. Charlemagne, Olaf Tryggvason, and St. Olaf, among others, all killed thousands in the name of Christianity and their prophet. The Christians fought numerous crusades against the Saracens for control of Jerusalem, killing tens of thousands. The Spanish Inquisition tortured and killed numerous Pagans along with those they deemed as heretics from their own religion. No one will ever know how many innocent victims were killed during the Dark Ages after being accused of being witches. The witch hunt even happened here in the New World in Salem, Mass. in the 1600's. The Christians even turned on each other during the 30 years war when the Protestants ( Lutherans) fought the Catholics. Even during World War II the Vatican was more than willing to appease the Nazis to save their own necks. And now an ex- Nazi is the Pope ! Isn't that ironic ! And all this killing and torture was to stop other people from freely expressing their religious views and practices. Jesus never taught that !
It is only Freyja's comforting hand that quells the anger in my heart for the evil deeds done in the name of the Christian prophet born on the 25th of December. She has clearly shown me that anger towards the Christians is a means to no end. She wants me, (us), to direct our anger into passion and use it to rebuild our religion to new heights so that no one can ever tear it down again.
No, tomorrow, December the 25th, you will not find lights on my house; no tree in my living room; no joyous Christmas music playing on my stereo. That day, this year and every year, is a day to mourn all those who were killed by the Christians in the name of their prophet Jesus, because they stood fast and would not convert to their God and their religion. December 25th, is truly a Dark day in Pagan history and should be treated as such !
Go with Odin's wisdom, Freyja's love, and Thor's protection !
