Idunn' s Revenge
Idunn' s Revenge !
Idunn did not have long to wait ! A short time after she arrived she heard the unmistakable thumping of Jotun feet moving over the packed snow, and through the light brush. As the footsteps came closer Idunn puffed up her hair, and put on her best false smile. As she putting away her silver comb, an ugly Jotun appeared between two large boulders, and stood menacingly before her on the plateau. " Who dares to trespass on the lands of Fjolverk ! " he shouted. Once Idunn heard the Jotun give his name her false smile turned into a sly determined grin !
Idunn put down the reins and picked up her basket of poisoned golden apples. The Elf Goddess slowly, and seductively, stepped out of the cart. The Jotun's anger almost at once turned to surprise and delight. When Fjolverk' s eyes saw her delicate little toes as they set themselves upon the hard surface, he rushed over to help her from the cart. As his stare rose from her feet he caught a glimpse of the delicate curves of her body, and the pure whiteness of her skin. His eyes reached the fullness of her breasts just as he took her hand to help her, and in a moment of embarrassment the Jotun felt himself blush. When Fjolverk saw her beautiful face in between the young woman' s wild golden hair, he froze for a moment in disbelief. Idunn gave the Jotun his moment before speaking. " Am I trespassing ? " she asked. " If I am I apologize ! I seem to have lost my way among all these huge mountain tops ! " Idunn said with a smile that melted the Jotun' s heart.
Fjolverk had to think for a moment before finding the right words, and even then as he spoke them he knew they sounded clumsy. " I... I... I guess if you are lost... well... that is not really the same as trespassing. " The Jotun said with a stutter. Idunn shrugged her shoulders, and made a shivering motion . " It is a little chilly here. I should have worn my heavy frock ! " Idunn told him with a flirtatious smile. Fjolverk slowly looked down at her voluptuous body, which was in full view through the sheer gown. " Yes..... well.... I have a nice large fire in my hall if you wish to warm yourself ! " the Jotun told her. " Oh, that would be very nice ! " Idunn replied as she looked deeply into his eyes. " This way little one ! " Fjolverk said as he pointed in between the two large rocks. " My name is Idunn. " she told the Jotun. " And you said your name is ....Fjolverk ? " she asked making sure who he was. " Yes, my dear ! I am Fjolverk of Jotunheim. Welcome to my mountain abode ! " the Jotun replied proudly. As Idunn passed Fjolverk the Giant carefully studied her from behind. He was amazed at how beautiful she was. And her scent ! It was arousing something in him that he could barely control !
As Idunn warmed herself by the fire, the Jotun spooned out a thick stew into stone bowls. After he poured mead into two large goblets he invited Idunn to join him at his table. " I am no great cook, but I think you may enjoy this my dear. The meat came from a giant boar that I killed with my bare hands ! " the Jotun boasted. " And the mead..... you must try the mead ! It was given to me by the great Jotun Gymir himself ! It is very delicious ! " Fjolverk added in an excited tone . Idunn had to lift the immense goblet with two hands to take a sip. " Mmm ! This is very nice ! " she told him as she ran her tongue over her lips. Idunn noted that the Jotun squirmed on the bench as he tried to control himself. The Elf Goddess did not eat the meat , but picked instead at the vegetables and roots she found floating in the thick stew. She was not really hungry for food anyway. What she hungered for was revenge !
When they finished with their meal, Fjolverk invited her over to the fire. The Jotun poured her a fresh drink, but this time he put it in a much smaller cup. The Jotun had no idea what to talk about, so they just sat there in front of the fire sipping their mead. Idunn caught his gaze from time to time, and smiled playfully at him each time their eyes met. Fjolverk tried to look into her eyes, but his focus always seemed to shift to her breasts, as they rose and fell with every breath she took. Idunn could not believe that a Jotun could be so shy. Finally she reached over and kissed him on the cheek, as she gently placed her hand on his inner thigh. " I want to thank you for your wonderful hospitality. " she whispered seductively in his ear .
The Jotun could take no more ! He picked up Idunn, and carried her into his bed chamber. The Elf Goddess had to think quickly, and just did grab hold of her basket with the poisoned golden apples, before he whisked her away. Fjolverk set down Idunn in front of his large bed, and in one quick motion ripped off her gown. Idunn barely held onto her apple basket as the Jotun threw her on top of the bed . As the Jotun was undressing Idunn knew that she had to think fast ! " I would like you to have one of my golden apples before you take me ! " she told him. " It is not an apple that I want right now little one ! " he told her as he frantically untied the laces on his shoes. " Oh, but the Gods eat these apples, and they say that it adds to their vigor ! " Idunn told him slyly. Fjolverk stopped for a moment. " Is that what the Gods say ?! " he asked. " Yes ! Odin, Freyr, Tyr, Balder.... and even Mighty Thor ! They say it heightens the pleasure. " she told him as she held out an apple.
Fjolverk took the apple, and lay down next to her. As he started to eat the apple he placed his arm around her, pushing her head onto his chest. As she lay there she could hear the Jotun chomping on the apple like the animal that he was. She could feel the disgusting spray from its juices every time he took a bite, and hoped that this would all soon be over. It only took the Jotun a few moments to finish the apple, the core of which he threw on the floor. After wiping his hands on the bedding, he picked up Idunn, and laid her in the middle of the bed. As he hovered above her, Idunn began to shake in fear, and as he spread her legs she closed her eyes out of sheer terror. As the Jotun was about to take her, he suddenly stopped, and began to look around the room as though he knew something was wrong, but could not quite figure it out .
Without warning the Jotun began to have seizures, and then he started to sway slowly back and forth. Idunn had to quickly roll out of the way as the Jotun came crashing hard down upon the mattress. Fjolverk rolled over on his back, and began to spasm uncontrollably. He was also crying out in pain ! After a long moment, he lay still on the bed gasping for air, and gritting his teeth in agony. Idunn rolled over on top of him, and looked him right in the eyes. " You killed my brother you bastard ! And now I am going to watch you as you slowly die ! " she screamed at the Jotun. Idunn smiled, a wicked smile, as tears coursed down her cheeks. Fjolverk, summoning the last of his strength, reached up, and placed his hands around Idunn's throat ! Idunn tried to remove his hands, but they were three times the size of hers, and she couldn' t budge them. As she felt herself becoming dizzy, and unable to breathe, she noticed blood beginning to pour out of the Jotun's eyes. Suddenly his hands loosened, and fell limp at his side. From lips that were covered with a slimy foam that he was regurgitating, Fjolverk asked hoarsely : " Who was your brother ? " Idunn was now crying uncontrollably, and shaking, but she answered none the less : " His name was Ingalf, and he was of the Alfar ! He was on his way to Svartalheim on his reindeer when you killed him you bastard ! " she told him through trembling lips. " I remember him. " he told her. And then as his last breath escaped him he whispered : " I... am...sorry ... "
Idunn rolled off of Fjolverk, and sat trembling on the edge of the bed. Suddenly she felt a presence, and realized that she was not alone in the room ! " Do not fear me my dear ! " a voice said out of the darkness. As the figure walked slowly into the light Idunn saw before her a beautiful woman dressed in a glittering white gown. At first she thought it was Freyja, but as she came closer she realized it was Gullveig. " Have you been here all this time ? " Idunn asked tearfully. " Yes, my dear. " she answered. " Did you think that I could not kill the Jotun ? " Idunn asked through trembling lips. " No ! I knew that you would accomplish your task my dear ! I am here to show you something very important ! " Gullveig told her as she pulled out a hand mirror. " This is what hatred and revenge does to us ! " she told the Elf Goddess, as she put the mirror in front of her. Idunn screamed when she saw her reflection ! " What has happened to me ! " Idunn asked as she slipped crying to the floor. Her face had changed ! She was even uglier than the Jotun who had killed her brother ! " Deep anger and hatred is an ugliness that in Goddesses is reflected in our image. Not to worry though my dear, the ugliness of your act will soon pass, and you will return to your former self. " Gullveig told her. Idunn looked up at Gullveig with teary eyes . " I want to go home ! " she blurted out like a little child. Gullveig grabbed a blanket off of the bed, and wrapped it around Idunn . " Yes my dear, let us leave all of this ugliness behind us." the Queen of Seidr told her.
As they walked back through the two boulders on their way back to the golden cart, Gullveig stopped ,and placed Idunn safely behind her. Up ahead two large and hairy Jotuns were trying to steal Freyja ' s cart. When Idunn peeked around Gullveig to see why they had stopped she let out an involuntary little gasp that alerted the Jotuns to their presence. As the Jotuns headed towards them Gullveig changed back into the ugly hag that Idunn had seen at the forest hut. The great witch raised her arms in front of her, and clapped her hands twice. The force her hands created picked up the Jotuns, and blew them over the side of the mountain. As Gullveig slowly changed back into her beautiful self they could hear the echoes of the screaming Jotuns as they fell to their deaths. Idunn stepped in front of Gullveig, and gave her a puzzled look . Gullveig rolled her eyes and smiled. " Well,...... sometimes a little anger, ...and hatred, is necessary my dear ! " she said as she placed her arms around Idunn. " Now lets go home ! " she added as they walked back to the golden cart.
