Odin' s Secret Council
Odin noticed that the sun was about to set, and realized it was time to meet with Thor and Tyr. All - Father could not stop thinking that something was wrong as he walked to his bed chamber in the great hall. When Odin opened the door Thor and Tyr were already inside waiting for Odin, and both had questioning looks upon their faces. Odin had never called a council of war in his bed chamber before, and this had both the Gods of War puzzled. Everything became clear, however, when Odin described the situation to them in great detail. Thor and Tyr both liked King Rognvald very much and were more than willing to help in any way they could. Thor even suggested to Odin that they turn themselves into human warriors and fight alongside King Thorkel' s warriors to give him and edge. Odin thanked them for their offer, but told them that there was more going on in the temple grounds than his all- seeing eye could discern. He commanded Tyr and Thor to go to the temple lands only to observe. " Under no circumstances must the Gods interfere in this war between the humans ! " Odin said sternly. " Do you understand ? " He added. Thor and Tyr both nodded, indicating that they understood, and then they left for Midgard.
Odin went back to Hlidskjalf, and looked back out at what was transpiring in Hordaland. He watched in dismay as the two armies came closer and closer together. He then turned his attention to the temple to see what Odd was doing. He watched intently as the Godi honored the Gods and Goddesses in a sacred ritual, one by one. Odin smiled and said to himself : " Never have I seen a man who so honors we of the Aesir and the Vanir ! " As his gaze switched to the lands around the temple he noticed something very strange about one of the warriors who was leading Hrolf's army into battle formation. When he realized what the true situation was he stood up and shouted : " This can' t be ! How can this be ?! "
