364. The Seeds Others Have Sown
I am like a fallen leaf swept away by a stream,
A sleeper caught up in a never ending dream,
I feel my life was taken, and is no longer my own,
And I am forced to reap the seeds others have sown.
I wonder how much more I have left to give,
And if there are enough days for me to live,
Although my faith has often been quite tough,
I question if what I have done has been enough.
I have tried to honor our Gods with word and deed,
Though I fear that through the years I did not succeed,
Maybe in the next life the Gods will erase my debts,
And wash away my multitude of doubts and regrets.
Until death comes and closes forever tightly my eyes,
I will continue to do the bidding of Odin the All - Wise,
And if I have touched and enlightened just one mind,
Then I can die in the knowledge that the Gods were kind.
