377. A Queen In Her Own Right
Quietly she sits on her golden throne locked in deep contemplation,
In her one hand she holds a distaff as though it were a holy sceptre,
With the other she weighs the past against the present, and the future.
A Seer, she can see past the ugliness, to the beauty that lays beyond,
Yet she has the wisdom to keep the visions of foreknowledge to herself,
With a look of frailty that belies her strength, she holds tightly onto a secret.
Her great love of children is matched only by the size of her caring heart,
She has a tender compassion, and yet never resorts to showing anyone pity,
A proud Goddess who will protect the innocent, a most glorious battle maiden.
Her soft eyes can change the deepest despair into the highest of hope,
She can reform the most cynical, quickly changing them to be optimistic,
And her gentle touch can comfort the deepest sorrow of the most distraught.
Married to a great Lord and King, she needs no one to lend her legitimacy,
She is a Queen in her own right, the All - Mother, majestic, and honorable,
Sitting alone on her high seat at Fensalir, Frigga stands taller than most !
