Poem 435 : The Winds Have Changed !
The movement has blown down from out of the north, a faith from the past,
It began as gently as a summer breeze, many thought it to be very strange,
Those in the religion of the desert people, said that it could not possibly last,
But not even these powerful monotheists could stop these winds of change.
Those in other religions try constantly to put Northern Polytheists to shame,
They attempt to divide and conquer our faithful, contradict us, and estrange,
The fire and glory of our ancestral religion, however, they can never tame,
No matter how hard they try, monotheists cannot stop the winds of change.
Like a spark from a long dormant cinder, Sveinbjorn Beinteinsson resurrected,
Put down the cross, spoke of the old Gods, picked up the hammer in exchange,
Before the Icelandic Parliament, and the world, his strong argument he directed,
His great oratory began the convection that became the great winds of change.
One by one, land by land, the old Northern Gods once again received their due,
Kindreds and temples soon will rise up all along the Norse and Germanic range,
Minds are changing, and faith is returning, from these mighty winds that blew,
And among those who once again believe, swirls forever these winds of change.
New Age they may still call us, a fad, a passing phase that will eventually fade,
These Monotheists continue to think we are just plain crazy, and quite deranged,
But the Asatru breeze is turning into a tornadic vortex, strong as a Viking blade,
Nothing can stop our faith now, because the winds of faith have surely changed !
