In which nothing green can take root and grow.
A realm of covered earth frozen solid as a rock,
Where there is nothing to eat to sustain livestock.
A frigid corridor where great mountains rise,
Up out of the hard ground to an incredible size.
Humans dare not live in these bitterly cold lands,
Where shifting glaciers move like the desert sands.
It is a world that is very cold, desolate, and most unkind,
In which man's destructive behavior has been left behind.
It is a place that is still untainted, still pristine and pure,
A land where whales, polar bears, and seals can endure.
