The valley below was quite deep, Sunna was their guide.
There was snow above the treeline, the ice made them slip,
Many saw this as an ominous sign, some regretted the trip.
Under the stars they set up camp, winds made them shake,
Mani glowed as bright as a lamp, smiled down for their sake.
In the morning cold and wet, just glad they did not freeze,
Left the mountain with no regret, headed down into the trees.
As they reached the valley below, the great warmth of the sun,
Quickly melted away the deep snow, into rivers on a sea - run.
They followed this river for days, until they came to a shore,
To their Gods they gave praise, with a special honor to Thor.
Still sitting on the beach, sat the ships they had carefully stowed,
Which allowed them to reach, to this land that they had rowed.
Their ships they made ready, launched them into the sea foam,
Balanced them so they were steady, and made their way home.
