314. The Faithful Wife
The ever faithful Sigyn stands by her husband' s side weeping.
In her trembling hands she has a bowl, held high for Loki' s sake,
With it Sigyn tirelessly catches the dripping venom of the snake .
The Goddess lovingly remains, forever acting as a buffer,
So the father of her dead children will not have to suffer.
Although her arms and her back are sore with much ache,
She endures all of the pain, for her disgraced husband' s sake.
When the bowl needs emptying, for a moment she leaves his side,
And Loki is splattered with poison, now matter how fast her stride.
Then in agony the trickster screams as his body begins to shake,
And the ground here in Midgard slowly begins to shift and to quake.
When the bowl must be temporarily removed from the God' s head,
This is the awful moment that causes the trickster Loki the most dread.
But Farbauti and Laufey's son is a very fortunate individual indeed,
For he has his faithful wife Sigyn to forever look after his every need.
