Great Goddess of the midwinter cold.
Dress gleaming white, pure as the snow,
Floating through forests like a river's ice floe.
One with nature, a part of the world,
Hair like a vine, the leaf end's curled.
Guardian of children, their cradle to rock,
The sick, for protection, hold on to your frock.
Teacher of crafts, spinner of thread,
Spindle in hand, a distaff by your head.
Maker of linen, keeper of the household,
Yet, leader of the hunt, strong and bold !
Holda, you are as beautiful as you are mature,
With us always, a part of our ancestor's lore.
Humbly we ask that you protect us from the storm,
And hold us forever in your heart, healthy and warm.
