The Abduction Of Thrudr
As Thor walked the path that lead to the front doors of his hall he spotted his children over by the stables. The Thunder God decided it would be fun to surprise them. He hid behind the wall of the stable meaning to jump out and scare them, but what he heard made him stay put. Modi as always was the one doing much of the talking. Thrudr chimed in on occasion, but Magni rarely said anything. What Thor overheard, however, greatly angered the son of Odin. Thrudr had been kidnapped ! There was a message for ransom ! And Magni and Modi had gone into a hostile Jotunheim to rescue their sister ! Thor's eyes grew redder and redder until they burned as hot as flames as he listened to the stories his children were telling. His children also agreed not to worry their mother with what happened, and Thrudr said she would tell her that she was sorry for staying away for so long, and accept what ever punishment she was given. Thor silently walked away from the stables and entered Bilskirnir without his children ever knowing he was there.
Thor agreed that Sif did not need to know of such horrible things, and he never did tell her. Thrudr was punished for being away for such a long time, but Sif was surprised that her husband only took away her horse Gullhofi for one cycle of Mani. Thor was not usually so lenient when it came to his punishments. Thor no longer looked at Magni and Modi the same, and though they were still very young, he now saw them as equals. They had proven themselves in battle, and the Thunder God was very proud of them. Thor never forgot the hated name of the Jotun Hrungnir !
.........And then one day when he arrived at Odin's Hall, there sat a drunken Hrungnir, who was bad mouthing the Gods...... Well... that is another story for another time !
