Odin, the great All - Father, who we just about all worship, was the son of a woman called Bestla, who was the daughter of the Giant Bolthorn. Thor is the son of Odin, whose grandmother was a Jotun, and Jord is believed by some to be a Giantess as well. Personally I have mixed feelings about her Jotun ancestry, and think of her more as a living deity like the Sun and the Moon. The God Dag, was the son of a Jotun mother, Nott. Heimdall is said to be the son of nine Giant mothers. Beat that !There is some speculation that Vidar is the son of Odin, and through seduction or rape, the Giantess Grid. Vali is the son of Odin and Rind who is also seen as a Giantess. Magni was the son of Thor and the Giantess Jarnsaxa, as I believe was Modi. Tyr is said to be the son of Hymir, a Jotun, and his grandmother is described, in the Lay of Hymir, as having nine hundred ugly heads. Sounds like a Jotun to me !
There is also a lot of inter - marriage that takes place between the Jotun's, and the Aesir, and Vanir Gods. Freyr, of the Vanir, marries Gerd, a Giantess whose beautiful white arms light up the sky. Bor, an Aesir, marries Bestla, an Etin. Nott, a Jotun, marries Delling of the Aesir race. Njord , another Vanir God, marries one of my favorite Etins, the great skiing Giant Skadhi. All of these marriages seem to lead to the Jotuns being integrated into the Aesir society, and they are listed later among the Gods and Goddesses. If the Aesir have no problem with integrating them into their society, then why should we have a problem with some in our religion who honor them ?
So if you want to exclude those who honor the Etins ( Jotuns, Giants, etc...) then go right ahead. But be sure to exclude yourself as well ! Our Gods have a heritage of Etin blood that cannot be denied, or refuted. Some have issues with those who honor the Etins, but me I have no problem with them !
Go with Odin's wisdom, Freyja's love, and Thor's protection !
