This tale of the Jomsvikings also has one of the greatest " characters", well maybe not quite as good as Sigurd or Hrolf Kraki, in any of the Sagas, and that is Vagn. Vagn joins the Jomsvikings at a very young age by " proving " himself, and let me tell you he is one tough SOB. At the end of the tale you get to read how Vikings dealt with their own impending deaths. You will see that they lived, and died within a standard code of honor, and loyalty, to each other seldom matched today.
I will be picking up the story when the Jomsvikings build their fortress, which is about halfway through the tale. To tell the whole story would take 12 to 15 parts, and that is with condensing . I hope you will enjoy what is a wonderful tale of the Viking Age, and I suspect it will motivate some of you to read the whole saga, and maybe a few histories about the Viking Age, and the warriors, and heroes that still inspire us to this day!
Go with Odin's wisdom, Freyja's love and Thor's protection !
