373. These Brave Seamen
Dark curling waves, foam cresting white,
Wind blown spray, hindering one's sight,
Swells sink deep, everything seems lost,
Such the price, the seafarer's cost.
The clouds open, the torrent falls,
From the heavens, hellish rain squalls,
Furious is Aegir, sea filled strife,
Risking it all, a sailor's life.
Cold ocean currents, blue ice drifting,
Polar vortex falling, winds begin shifting,
Plummets the temperature, Ran's cold den,
Stoic they remain, these brave seamen.
Ice covered rigging, sail blown away,
Dangerous to continue, death to stay,
Oars splashing water, tiller in hand,
Blessed is Thor, to starboard land !
