My views on life differ greatly from those of my Christian brothers, and none more so than over the debate between forgiveness and retribution. I really had not thought much about this subject until recently when the shooters in Arizona, Norway, Colorado and at the Sikh Temple decided that human life has no meaning. At least one of these murderers was killed, but the other three, ( Whose names I will not glorify by mentioning ), are still alive awaiting trial in jail. All three of these psychotic maniacs were caught red handed, and identified as having committed the crime. I am telling you this so I don't have to listen to some bleeding heart liberal tell me, " Oh, well maybe they have the wrong person. " These are the people who committed these heinous crimes, and in my opinion they should have a fast trial, and then be executed. Anything less is a dishonor to the memories of their victims in my opinion !
And yet after every one of these horrendous death rampages I hear Christians with their turn the other cheek, Jesus loves you crap, telling the media that they forgive the killer. This maniac just killed your wife, mother, brother, father, husband, etc...., and you forgive him for what he has done ?! Are you kidding me ! I fully realize that holding in anger is a dangerous psychological thing to do, and I am not suggesting that people hang on to their anger, but in my eyes, and I believe in our religion, retribution is not only the way of our ancestors, but is the only way to deal with these media seeking psychos.
One of the reasons I believe that these nuts do what they do is not only for the media attention, just look at the spectacle that idiot in Norway made of himself in court, but because they know that they live in a liberal society filled with liberal Christians who are more than willing to let them live the rest of their lives in jail. The worst offender I have ever seen is Charles Manson ( Sorry, to make my point I have to name at least one psycho ). Although he supposedly did not kill his victims, he had others do it, he has basked in the limelight for the past 40 years. Every time he comes up for parole, ( How is that even possible ! Oh, forgot bleeding heart liberals ), he parades around on T. V. and smiles for all the media cameras. Meanwhile his victims are long dead and forgotten.
I could never understand why the Christians chose the phrase turn the other cheek over and eye for an eye. Though I suppose it has a lot to do with Jesus who died to cleanse them of their sins. Thier God does not seem to have much trouble with retribution. I am sure we have all heard of the great flood and Noah's Ark. Or how about when he destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah ? So why do these liberal Christians have so much of a problem with an eye for an eye, if there God has no problem with it ? In my opinion it has to do with the Old Testament justice versus the New Testament justice. Jesus changed the complexion of this issue with his love and forgiveness teachings that softened the hearts of those who followed him.
In our religion, the Old Religion, many of us still believe in a gift for a gift, and a lie for a lie. Our Gods teach us that retribution is not just the way of our people, but the way to justice. I am not angry at these people who struck out in their madness, and killed masses of innocent people, but I do expect to see retribution. Actually, I demand It !
