272. Brisingamen
It was called Brisingamen, and it was made out of the purest gold
The Dwarves Alfrik, Berling, Dvalinn, and Grer, forged it in their fire,
And when it was shown to Freyja, it became her heart' s one desire.
Freyja offered them gold and silver, reached deep into her coffer,
But money was not what these Dwarves really wanted her to offer.
For the golden necklace she must spend with each Dwarf a night,
And give to each of the Dwarves, in turn, all of her sexual delight.
In time the Goddess Freyja finally acquiesced to their steep demand,
And the Vanir Goddess came home with the necklace in her hand.
Around her neck the golden Brisingamen she would always display,
But she never spoke again of that awful bargain she made that day.
Then one morning when she tried to put her beloved necklace on,
She looked for it everywhere, but her prize possession was gone.
Freyja went to Heimdall asked Bifrost' s stoic guardian for his help,
His vision spotted the necklace on a rock among seaweed and kelp.
It had been the trickster Loki who had turned himself into a fly to steal,
The necklace he now guarded on an ocean rock in the form of a seal.
Heimdall decided he would swim out to Loki, and face him all alone,
He transformed into a seal, and then swam out to the Singing Stone.
There was no friendship between them, Heimdall was rudely greeted,
They both fought in the form of seals, and Loki was soundly defeated.
Heimdall rode his horse Gulltop quickly back to the Asgardian lands
Where he placed the Brisingamen necklace back into Freyja's hands.
