A Game Of War
When spring came, and the weather calmed, the farmer lent the boys a boat. As the older couple led the boys down to the beach the farmer whispered into Geirrod's ear words that were for him alone. A fair wind took the boys back to their father's safe harbor. Geirrod, acting on the advice of the farmer, leapt out onto shore first, and pushed the boat back into deeper water. Geirrod shouted words of hatred at his brother as the small craft sailed away on the currents.
" Stay away, and may the Trolls adopt you ! " he warned his brother.
Geirrod was welcomed back by the Hundlanders most warmly because his father had died in his absence. He was accepted as their king, and later won much fame and honor in battle. Both of King Hunding's sons were being watched closely, however, and their deeds, and misdeeds, tallied by the Gods.

" But my foster son Geirrod is a king who rules over a mighty land ! "
Frigga shook her head, and smirked at her husband's rude remark.
" I see only a stingy man who deprives his guests of food when he thinks there are too many to feed ! " she answered.
Odin rose up off of his high-seat and looked down angrily at his wife.
" That is a lie ! " he shot back.
And the two made a bet on it ( Which we all know turned out not at all the way Odin wished ) ,....., one of many over the years the couple made.
